Ray's Testimony

Ray had the privilege of being born into a Christian home and realized that he was lost and needed a Savior at the age of seven. God has placed a call on his life to reach young people with the Gospel of Christ and to see them grounded in God's Word.

Ray has been in youth ministry for 21+ years. The first eight years were as youth Pastor at Spring Hill Baptist Church in South Charleston, WV. Since 1995, he has been an Area Missionary with Word of Life Fellowship. The first five years with Word of Life were spent in WV as he covered Southeastern Ohio and West Virginia, training church leadership and organizing events to minister to young people. Since 1999, he has lived in Raleigh, NC covering Eastern North Carolina for Word of Life. Ray has been married to Beverly since 1983, and they have three sons, all of which are seeking to walk with the Lord, which brings them great joy.

Ray's goal is to reach the world for Christ from Raleigh as the Lord enables him. He has had the privilege of impacting the lives of many students and adults and watching these go and make an impact in states around our nation and countries around the world. Ray has also been challenged to write some of the lessons in the student curriculum for Word of Life that is then translated into multiple languages and are estimated to be taught to over 60,000 students worldwide each week. Beverly also writes for the 5th & 6th grade Quiet Time Diary for Word of Life that is translated into several different languages and distributed around the world.

Ray and Bev love to travel together and are big baseball fans. They will attend a MLB game every chance they get. They also enjoy cooking together and have been known to have theological discussions over the stove.
